The Rumi Dining Table
The Rumi is a rectangular dining table, its top carried on two solid panel plinths rather than corner legs — leaving the corners completely clear. Chairs tuck all the way under, a full table sits down without anyone straddling a leg, and with no apron beneath the top, there is nothing to catch a knee on either.
The corners are rounded off and the plinths are folded rather than flat, so the base reads light from across the room and solid up close. Take it in solid ash, which can be sanded back and re-oiled rather than replaced, or in sintered stone, which resists the heat of a hot pan.
